Who’s Who in the Art Gallery
Christine Parrish :
Born in Sydney in 1946 Christine is a dedicated artist and specializes in floral studies capturing the beauty of flowers in their individual arrangement.
Christine is accomplished in water colors, oils and acrylic and has been a full-time artist for most of her adult life.
Christine studied and has been widely influenced by the late Alan D Baker for 10 years prior to his death. Alan recognized the talent and work ethic in Christine, imparting with helpful knowledge and encouragement. This succeeded in producing the sort after artist that resulted in Christine’s paintings. Alan Baker was regarded as the foremost painter of floral masterpieces in Australia and Christine’s work certainly shows that admiration of this great artist.
Alan encouraged her to paint from life, arranging her flowers in her studio or on location, capturing that special atmospheric moment. Christine’s paintings have given pleasure to many collectors and are a welcome addition to any home.
Guenter Barth :
Guenter was born in East Germany and started painting at the age of sixteen.
He Emigrated to Australia in 1960 but it wasn’t until 1994 that he was able to follow his dream of being a full-time artist.
Guenter excels in capturing classical Australian landscapes and seascapes in traditional oil paintings
He prefers to paint on site, travelling through the country for inspiration. His Paintings are in private and corporate collections and have won numerous Art Prizes
Sue Gasser :
Sue Gasser has been a professional artist for most of her life.She has a natural talent which was discovered in her childhood.
After experimenting with various mediums she has found her Passion with pastels. Sue finds this medium brings out the softness and detail she requires for her subjects.
As she lives in the Blue Mountains of NSW her subjects are in abundance and her love for animals is evident in her paintings of Wildlife and Domestic, where she brings out the fine detail of fur and feathers.
Sue has had many successful exhibitions and won many awards
With the most prestigious ` The Art Awards of Sydney `
One of her paintings was purchased by the Blue Mountains City Council as a gift for the Mayor of Sanda Japan.
Sues works are represented in many countries and across Australia. Sue enjoys tutoring up and coming artists and says it`s a pleasure to help and encourage others.
It is the beauty and diversity of creation that inspires Sue and being an artist it makes you stop and take it in.
Tim Derwent :
Born in Australia in 1965 Tim has spent years mastering his unique combination of oils and acrylics.
Having toured extensively throughout the outback and fascinated by the colours and light of Western Australia, Tim’s paintings burst with the energy of these regions.
Not satisfied with his tutors of traditional styles, Tim broke away to “discover himself” and not to become an extension of his tutors.
To describe his works the words Colour, Texture, Simplistic and 3 dimensional are used but most importantly Tim creates FUN
If a collector has a wall requiring a statement, Tim’s work will be noticed!
John Frazer :
Whilst most artists display the harshness of the outback, John’s paintings show the softer side.
This is achieved by using his unique skills with oil paints, creating children or characters and blending them with their surroundings.
John is fascinated by the innocence of the outback children and their ability to be totally amused by the simplicity of their environment.
The children seem to integrate with the blue skies and red dirt drawing us into their unique outback world.
Their hypnotic eyes highlight the naivete of the children – you will not be able to look away from the work!
John’s distinctive style has been developed over many years of devotion to his art and the people of the outback.
